Participation Policy

The Quest Sports Management Co. Ltd. have worked diligently to provide a platform for Professional Golfers in Ghana and the surrounding regions to be proud of, as well as depend on.

We will remain loyal to our members by committing our time, money and efforts to making sure that The Quest Tournament remains a professional competitive environment that respects the integrity of the game of golf and its members.


IMPLEMENTATION OF NEW RULES REGARDING GROOVES
The player's clubs must conform to the groove and punch mark specifications as described in the Rules of Golf that are effective as of January 1, 2010.

ELIGIBILITY:
Male professional golfers who are in good standing with the PGA of Ghana and have paid their Tournament entry fee.

FORMAT:
 72 hole stroke play with cut unless otherwise stated. If play is suspended, a round will be completed on the following day (except on the last day). Scheduled days will not be extended. Only completed rounds will be counted. A minimum of 18 holes shall be considered as a completed tournament.

TIME OF STARTING:
All competitors in a group must be present and ready to play at the designated time. If the player arrives at his starting point, ready to play, within 5 minutes after his starting time, the penalty shall be two strokes, which will be added to the score for his first hole. Penalty for lateness beyond 5 minutes is disqualification.

LIST OF CONFORMING GOLF BALLS:
The ball the player plays must be named on the current "List of Conforming Golf Balls" issued by the United States Golf Association.

PACE OF PLAY:
Pairings are generally in threes and pace of play guidelines are 12 min. on par 3's, 14 min. on par 4's, and 16 min. on par 5's turn time 5 min. (4 hours and 17 minutes).

ADJUDICATING COMMITTEE:
The Adjudicating Committee whose decision shall be final and binding will be the Tournament Referee and Marshalls.

TIES:
In the event of a tie for first place, there will be a 3 hole sudden-death playoff starting at hole 16, then 17 and finishing on hole 18ctor, if a winner is still not determined, there will be a sudden death playoff on a hole by hole basis, which is to be determined by the adjudicating committee.

CELL PHONES:
The use of cell phones are only permitted in order to contact rules officials or in emergency situations. Any player, who disregards rules of etiquette to the detriment of other players, may be subject to a penalty of suspension or disqualification for a serious breach.

DRESS: 
Trousers and collared shirts are required with a neat appearance. Shirts must be tucked in. Traditional metal spikes are prohibited under penalty of disqualification.

ELECTRONIC MEASURING DEVICES: 
All electronic measuring devices are not permitted, the consequences for flouting this rule is a penalty of disqualification.

DANGEROUS WEATHER:
Players are playing at their own risk. Any time that a player feels threatened by lightning, he may suspend play and seek shelter until the threat has passed.

SCORECARDS: 
Players are required to return their scorecards in a timely manner after the completion of their round and review their scores at the scorer’s table. They are deemed to be returned when the player leaves the scoring area, so it is suggested players wait until their score is posted. Any infringement of this rule could lead to a player not having his score posted.

RULES VIOLATIONS:
It is the responsibility of each player to uphold the integrity of the game. If you have a question about a player's actions, confront them at the time, not hours or days later. Possible rules infractions must be reported to the rules committee prior to the close of each tournament round. Remember: rules officials are judges, not policemen.

CONSEQUENCES OF BEING ABSENT, DURING PRESENTATION: 
In the event any winner of our event(s) is absent during the presentation of prizes, it will be subject to the discretion of the course organizers as to whether the winning prize in question, goes to next best placed player.

MEDIA RELEASE: 
Each participant by signing our application forms has agreed to waive any rights in any and all media coverage of play or practice at the Tournament Sites. In addition, all participants agree to allow The Quest Sports Management Co Ltd and or its directors or affiliates to use their names, image or likeness in any and all marketing or advertising of The Quest Tour or individual events or anything else The Quest Sports Management Co Ltd, its directors or affiliates deem relevant.
 
ASPIRING PROFESSIONALS:
In consultation with the PGA, it has been agreed that this tournament will double up as a qualifying tournament for all aspiring professional golfers who have satisfied the PGA requirements and need to make the cut as part of their qualification process.

CLOSE OF COMPETITION: 
The competition shall be deemed to have closed when each day's score has been posted on the official scoreboard and approved by the Tournament Director.
